Amsterdam, 30 March 2020, Nathalie Scholten will be the new Managing Director of FIBER Foundation.
As of 1 April, Nathalie Scholten is the new Managing Director of FIBER Foundation. The Amsterdam-based festival and platform for digital culture thus expands to a two-headed board of directors. Scholten will take place next to the current general director Jarl Schulp, who will continue his work as artistic director.
Nathalie has worked in the cultural sector for over ten years in the areas of grants, production, project supervision, IT and process management. As project supervisor at the Netherlands Film Fund, she worked on the supervision of both the young talent applications and regular applications. She also gained festival experience at IDFA and Cinekid.
FIBER is delighted with the arrival of Scholten as managing director, who brings a lot of experience in the field of funding, project management and festivals. Her skills within internal policy processes, and her long-term experience in event production and IT knowledge will enable FIBER to further professionalize and grow its cultural contribution in the field.
Nathalie Scholten about her appointment: “After having worked several years for different festivals, I am really looking forward to this position which is not only new for me, but also for FIBER. This year, FIBER has focused on professionalisation and together with Jarl Schulp, the team and the board, I will continue this line. I am very much looking forward to getting started, as managing director for the unique FIBER festival.”
Chris Julien, interim chairman of the Board: “The hybrid arts approach that FIBER has been developing for ten years is very much in tune with the spirit of the times in 2021 and has a lot to say about the major challenges we face. These are reflected in the ambitious plans of the foundation for the coming policy period. With Scholten as Managing Director, FIBER has everything needed to fulfil these plans.
