FIBER part of Museumnacht at Waag

Introducing the outcomes of COTVN Lab

28 | 10 | 19

As part of Waag’s Museumnacht programming, FIBER will present part of the results of our Cartographies of the Vanishing Now Laboratory (COTVN). At the beginning of September, we investigated how sensory art and cartographic methods could contribute to new perspectives on the current ecological crisis.

What does it mean to think from non-human viewpoints? More than 30 interdisciplinary makers and thinkers collaborated on location at Waag on research and prototypes for new artistic productions and knowledge development. During the N8 the team will share their insights in short lectures and show some results.

One of the project leads and audiovisual artist Mark Ijzerman will introduce the project, artist Tivon Rice will share his work on the intersection of artificial intelligence and ecological issues and another COTVN participant will join in.

Museumnacht at Waag
During Museumnacht Amsterdam at de Waag, we are going on an expedition to planet B. Together with the audience, artists and scientists we will try to find answers to the large social and ecological challenges we are facing. A mission created from the urge to do things right.

The programme exists of soundscapes, performances and mini lectures about societal questions, ecological challenges and human activities in space, that help us consider humankind in relation to technology and environment. During the night you can visit an exhibition with works by Antti Tenetz, Aesthetics of Exclusion and Masha Ru and enjoy some experimental, sustainable drinks.
