FIBER x ADE 2024: A Focus on Audiovisual Storytelling

We are excited to announce that FIBER will participate in this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event with five activities spread over Thursday 17 and Saturday 19 October. Thursday takes place at Felix Meritis in collaboration with the international leading MUTEK Montréal Festival. Saturday we join ADE Club Lab for a masterclass, network drinks and a closing performance.

Thursday 17/10: MUTEK Montréal & FIBER Festival

On Thursday, October 17, in collaboration with Mutek Montreal, we will join forces with shesaid.so to present a special live AV performance by Tati au Miel. Tati will debut Rêverie, an immersive performance designed to evoke a sense of daydreaming and introspection. The day will however begin with a panel discussion featuring Tati au Miel and Jeisson Drenth, offering deeper insights into their experimental processes and interdisciplinary practices. This session is moderated by FIBER’s own Zoë Horsten. Entrance to both events is only possible with a ADE-Pro-pass. We do have a few guestlist spots for those who can’t afford a pass and would like to attend. Apply here

Saturday 19/10: Audiovisual Network Drinks

Melkweg Cinema Bar, 20:00 – 21:30

Are you a maker, performer, curator or agent working in the areas of experimental audiovisual performances, club/concert scenography or media art? We invite you to come to join the Audiovisual Network Drinks at the Melkweg Cinema Bar to get to know other professionals, exchange thoughts and explore opportunities about current day practices. The networking-drinks start at 20:00 and end at 21:30, leading into the ADE CLUB Lab performance evening at Melkweg Cinema.

Saturday 19/10: Noise Diva & orah

Workshop: de Brakke Grond, 17:00 – 18:00
Performance: Melkweg Cinema, 21:30 – 22:20


On Saturday, October 19, FIBER opens the evening of ADE CLUB Lab with an audiovisual performance at Melkweg Cinema. No other than Noise Diva & orah will present When I Lost My Words, I Found My Voice (Live AV).
Later this evening, LI-MA and Intercept will showcase a series of AV performances and soundtracked video art from the LI-MA collection. Artists: Axefield, Liza Dries, Mathilde Nobel, Zeno van den Broek (Live AV) and Nan Wang (Live AV).

For € 10 you can join both the network drinks and the performances of all 3 organizations (FIBER, LI-MA and Intercept).

Earlier in the day, there will be an opportunity to learn in an hour-long master class how these artists shaped the collaboration between image, sound, theory and personal archival work. A masterclass invites ADE Club Lab passholders to learn from the two creators. In what ways do they shape their making process? How do images and sounds come together into one narrative composition?
