From now on, you can access all the symposium sessions online on our Youtube channel. Immerse yourself in thought-provoking discussions, enlightening talks and engaging panels from the comfort of your home.

Take a deep dive into the healing power of sound with Maria Muehombo (M I M I) and learn more about listening as a critical practice with Budhaditya Chattopadhyay. Do you want to know more about the sonic possibilities of creating alternative realities? Then our two speakers Jordan Edge & Aditi Srivastava will provide you with interesting worldbuilding systems that break apart and reassemble cultural narratives. Toby Kiers and Studio Above&Below will share more about the world of communication between animals, plants and fungi.

The second day of FIBER’s symposium will teach you how to listen, sense and develop in ecological ways with talks by Seán Cubitt and Helen V. Pritchard. We will zoom in on the possibilities of machine listening and artificial sounds with Aimée Theriot-Ramos, Emile Frankel and Arif Kornweitz. Alice Yuan Zhang and Wassim Z. Alsindi ended our two-day symposium with strategies for a collective alternative towards a post-capitalist and regenerative world.
