Workshop Professional Makers: Space as a Collective Sonic Instrument
Workshop For Professional Makers: Space as a Collective Sonic Instrument
In collaboration with sound artists Robin Koek and Mint Park, we are hosting an ambitious and engaging workshop as part of the Aural Spaces 2024 educational programme. ‘Space as a Collective Sonic Instrument’ approaches listening and sonic composition through the lens of spatial sound. By taking a collective approach, participants will work as a group to gather sounds and create spatial experiments on a 4DSOUND system.
Are you a professional cultural maker with a practice in sound, movement or audiovisual arts with an interest in spatial sound? Want to gain skills and knowledge about a collective and interdisciplinary approach to composition? This workshop will approach the topic of listening and sonic composition through the lens of spatial sound. By taking a communal approach, participants will work as a group to gather sounds and create spatial experiments on a 4DSOUND system. Working with the historical Concertgebouw building as a starting point, you will create spatial sound compositions to be presented during the Aural Spaces program at the Recital Hall.
The workshop progresses over a two-day core programme at Contact Broedplaats, one brief introductory online session, and one final presentation to a live audience at the Recital Hall of Het Concertgebouw.
