You know Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, right? He has done great collaborations with Alva Noto and Christian Fennesz, among others. Four years after their first collaboration, Sakamoto & Fennesz released another album this year: Flumina.
But that’s not all Sakamoto does. I came across a video of him test-driving brain-controlled cat ears. What? Yes, cat ears.
The project behind this technology is Neurowear. They develop fashion items and gadgets using brain waves and other biosensors with “Augumented Human Body” as the concept. Their first project Necomimi makes cat-ears relax or stand at attention, dependent on brain activity. It’ll be interesting to see what other things they come up with.
