Announcing Coded Matter(s): Algorithmic Wildlife

11 | 07 | 15

Humans increasingly delegate labour to ‘smart’ computer systems. The stock market has already been automated for years; trading is done in high frequency; autonomous bots are becoming important actors in the production of news and visual culture.
Behind all this lays a digital biotope: the world of algorithms. During the evening programme of Algorithmic Wildlife artists and researchers will guide us through current and future manifestations of algorithms. Their presentations will insightfully address questions such as: do algorithms engage in ‘smart’ or ‘primitive’ behaviour? How autonomous are they, and what moral grounds have been embedded in them?

Speakers: T.B.A.
